First Time so i may be pretty rhetorical to other users BUTTT...hear me out...
I was in a chat room with a webcam...and someone asked to do a WHOIS on me...i didnt know what that was and then i see them post my ISP....and then got my email address...I was wondering what someone can find out when they do a WHOIS or find out your ISP or IP...Can they hack into your computer? What does that information do for you...Does it allow them to find out where you live etc.? Please let me know thanks!!!

It is not possible for a normal user to find out where you live.
Only an ISP can get that info, since they already have it :P

Never leave out your IP or post a WHOIS of yourself to someone you don't know.

Bullshit, I can figure out where YOU live in a chat room in less than * minutes. Get the ip address, run a program similar to visual route, if you mean your actual street address, than no, it's not as simple, but it's possible.
