Faking an IP on a forum

I'm hoping someone can help me.

In a forum such as this, is it possible for a person who knows your IP to create an account and log in in such a way that it appears they are logging in from your computer?

Or let's put it thisway - if I wanted to, would there be a way for me to take a known IP (not mine) and have that IP appear as the login IP on a forum?

I'm asking because it appears someone with knowledge of my IP has used it to log onto a forum and post some rather harmful information.

This is quite possible using ip hijacking !

First a person collects a lot of info about you.He then goes on to flood you by ping of death or by other means .

In such a case your system will crash and your Ip will be hijacked by that person !
