TELNET HACKING Problem

i use windows *8 right now, and when i connect to servers using telnet, what always happens is i can connect to the servers. However, when i start giving in commands such as GET/HTTP/*.0 double enter, what happens is i c html codes of the server, then right after, a little window pops up and says that connection to the host server is lost/dropped. can anyone help?
(happens to all the server i connect to)

maybe the ports are shut down by the security program after it detects that the ports are open.
