*0* is for creating permanent redirection. Just think you have an old and a new domain you want your visitors to go to your new domain, you can create a *0* redirection for that. *0* plays an important role in seo. A domain generally opens in both ways "with www" and "with out www". It may look identical to human eyes but for SE bots they are different domains having same content and that might hurt SE rank. You can fix this issue by creating a *0* redirection.

*02 is for temporary redirection. If you are redesigning or developing your website or any particular page of your website you can take your visitors to another similar page or website for a while. But *02 is quiet dangerous. Using *02 without proper condition can serious hurt your website.

I don't have much more knowledge about it.

There are two types of redirects you can use, a *0* and a *02. These numbers refer to the HTTP Status Code returned by the server for a given URL. A *0* redirect tells the search engine that the page has moved permanently to the new URL. A *02 redirect tells the search engine that the move is only temporary, and you may decide to show content at the original location in the future without a redirect.

According to me,*0*: Moved permanently,This and all future requests should be directed to the given URL.
*02: Found, This is an example of industry practice contradicting the standard.

*0* redirect is permanent redirect, it's used when you move a website to completely different URL.
*02 is temporary redirect.
