Reading through a few of the posts here, I am hoping someone can offer me some advice/info.

I was recently ripped off through a scam. I definitely acted foolishly, and quickly, but the long and short of it is that somebody I 'met' in a forum similar to this one had contacted me via email in response to tickets to an event I was looking for. Needless to say, he has my ***** and I have no tickets.

The only accurate info. I have is a yahoo email address (fake name phone # etc.) I have traced the email with WhoIs and IPNetInfo....but it sounds like this would only give me the address to the ISP, not the actual person (came up registered to a small university). Is this correct?

Ultimately, I am screwed and nobody can help because I have no info on this person. Is there a way I can get this person's true info?....name, address, phone, etc. I live across the country from this person, so I am not going to do anything drastic....really would just like to be able to contact them, get my $$ back, or give the info to someone who can help.

I know there are a lot of threads about things like this, but can anyone help? Or are there any other things I can do that might be able to help?

Sorry for the long post, and thank you in advance.

As Bill Engvall would say: "Here's your sign! (http://shop.comedycentral.com/Bill-Engvall--Here-s-Your-Sign---Live-Blue-Collar-Comedy_st***productId2706776VVcatId426754VVviewprod.htm)"

Giving your ***** to an unknown person using an un******* method is not very wise. You will never find this guy because there is no way to ***** him. DONT SEND ***** TO STRANGERS!

Even when you make purchases via Ebay, scams are out there! A guy was trying to sell me a car from the UAE. He could not confirm the two ports he was using to shipping the vehicle so I NEVER sent him any *****. He gave me a valid phone number where I contacted him but it was ALL A SCAM.

Another thing, never send a copy of your driver’s license over the internet. People from all over are looking to steal identities to sneak into countries. If crimes are committed, it will all go down under YOUR name.
