I have read about proxy server, and the fake IP address. SO if I will to use a proxy server, the website I visit will see my fake IP address. My question here is does my Internet Service Provider know where i surf ? Or my ISP will only be able to trace my surfing activity up to the proxy server ?

Thank You !!

Everything you do online goes through your ISP's routing first. Proxies come after this - the only thing proxies do is prevent the websites themselves from collecting individually identifying data on you, and your ISP can still see everything.

The only way to avoid ISP packet inspection is to encrypt the connection.

Use tor (http://tor.eff.org) to browse, or only visit sites which use SSL (https://).

When you connect through Tor, your ISP sees only an encrypted connection to the tor network, not the actual websites you visit or services you use.

When you access a website through Tor, the website's logs only show a connection from the Tor network, not your own IP address.

It's really that simple - if you connect through Tor, you are anonymous. To browse with Tor, download the package from their website and follow the instructions from there.

Those websites can not really be trusted. If they find someone to have done something illegal with their service, i'm sure they keep logs and they will disclose full user information if necessary. Tor however is decentralized and it is hard for people to ***** you.

JAP is a lot like Tor, but I wouldn't recommend it. A while ago it had a backdoor placed in it and a lot of people haven't trusted it since. In any case, it offers nothing better than Tor.
