How do hide my address in irc?

I believe i need sock 4 or 5 proxies (whatever they do is beyond me) and put them in the firewall section on my mirc. Is this correct?
Cos every sock proxy i found didnt work or wasnt anonymous.
And will i after that have pretty good security with zonealarm and blackice.

You can connect via socks but there is also alternative.With socks2http and a4 proxy*multiproxy).
