i set up a email account with hotpop.com that allows SMTP use, so here are the settings:

Incoming/POP Server: pop.toughguy.net, port **0
* Alternate POP Server: pop.toughguy.net, port **00
* Username: toddler@ToughGuy.net
* Outgoing/SMTP Server: smtp.toughguy.net*, port 25

The Ardamax email setup menu has fields for :

Send To:
Send From:
SMTP Host:
Port:
Username:
Password:

but for smtp host, whenever i enter in ''smtp.toughguy.net" and Port: 25, ...it says FAILED TO CONNECT TO THE SMTP SERVER, INVALID HOST NAME........

what am i doing wrong?

Try the program's own forums; we don't know what its cryptic error messages mean.

Also, don't all decent remote admin tools have the capability of directly sending to target SMTP servers without intermediary 'relay' SMTP servers? All it has to do is perform one DNS lookup on a specified email address domain to find the email provider's own SMTP servers, then it's the same as sending to an open relay. Sounds like laziness on the programmer's part...
