This is the thread to list all the people that are leaving; perhaps for a short period or forever.

SyntaX******
Moonbat
Troll
mike*5*

I am leaving because I need to sort my life out and this forum comes really low in my current priorities. I can't elaborate much more because I'm kind of drunk (yup, sorting out my life), and I just don't want to.

Moonbat, Troll and Syntax's announcements made me think about things, and leaving is my conclusion. I have way too many obligations to spend time on internet forums, for the moment.

Thus, I propose that we all meet on this forum in exactly three months, starting tomorrow. That's January 2*st, 2007 @ 22:20 GMT -- note it down in your diary [if you have one...].

In one day (October 2*st, 2007 @ 22:20 GMT ), I propose that we all leave and don't even occasionally come back to check on things (until the final date in January). Before that time tomorrow, we can leave our final messages in this thread (or the other), or whatever you want to do.

I advise us all to clear out our PM inboxes/sent messages, so there will hopefully be enough room for * months' worth of PMs.

At that date, we'll discuss things and some may decide to leave forever, or perhaps some may decide to be regulars again. Who knows? I haven't decided yet whether to leave forever.

Do I sense a bit of sentimental-ness in your post, mike? :p

Yeah, well, I guess everyone has bigger dreams ahead of them. I for one am trying to become more of a computer person than a hacker. Hacking is something you do in your younger years, in my opinion. One day we'll all look back at times when we 'owned' servers and 'hacked' sites and just laugh.

SyntaX posted a while ago here (http://www.all-nettools.com/forum/showthread.php?t=6450) that he was going to leave the forums once again. He hasn't logged on since October *th, so I'm guessing he's sticking to his word.

With SyntaX, me, and you leaving, that means there will be no (active) mods around. I probably will have to come at least once every week to clear up spam, but I wouldn't mind. After all I didn't get this mod title for the looks. I see this forum more as my duty to help the less computer-savvy of the Internet. If every computer hacker/enthusiast ignored noobs, well, I dunno what'd happen, but it wouldn't be good. Someone has to help the noobs, because nobody helped me. That being said, I cannot abandon these forums fully, but I do need my own time to expand my knowledge.

Well, SyntaX, me, you, and Troll are leaving. These forums will become a hell-hole of spam and general stupidity once again. So like I said, I'll have to visit here at least once a week to keep it in check. So I won't be able to follow your idea, mike. But I will try to come on January 20th and join in on all the reminiscing.

Okay, well I'll make the "no checking back" thing a personal rule -- everyone else can do what they want.

Just remember to all be back here in January ;).

I have alot of memories of this forum, i go on now and again to see how things go and slowly but surely it went downhill. On this forum i went froma n00b to well i wouldn't say hacker but more knowledgeable in the computing field. I think i *st come on when i was like *2 or something and its changed me alot. Thanks to everyone who helped me and i hope also that i have helped people less knowledgeable.

I thank You and goodbye

Oh fuck it; all my plans have stalled for the moment and I'm extremely bored. The only worthwhile thing I could achieve with my time right now is homework, and that simply is not an option.

GAIM/Pidgin totally messed up my entire contact list (built up over two years) and I lost some of my contacts (and got de-added by others), then when I saw the Saudi-harassers (who unfortunately were not made redundant by GAIM), it reminded me of this place.

Yeah. I'll post some convo logs later on in this post for your amusement.

I might leave when [/if] the wheels start turning on my plans and everything works itself out, but right now it's *:2*AM and I could do one of the following:

Option *:

Call up friends and see a movie, or something.

Reason why not:

I usually see all the good movies before they even hit the theatres, and it's about *0C outside, cloudy and depressing. I really can't be bothered. It got boring after the first 5 or so times.

Option 2:

Do some freelancing and earn *****.

Reason why not:

I already have two projects I'm waiting on, and that's an adequate workload.

Option *:

Watch some porn.

Reason why not:

Well, I probably will later, but that's irrelevant at this moment in time.

Option 4:

Go to a job interview that I have scheduled for, well, right this moment.

Reason why not:

This particular chain-store has a store in a nearby town (I went to their interview about a week ago), and apparently they thought I was too arrogant and over-confident and they didn't like my attitude.

Perhaps I have a problem with authority, but I was just making some jokes, y'know. Nothing unfriendly; unprofessional perhaps, but not unfriendly.

If I'm not corporate-robot enough for them, fuck 'em. I didn't like her attitude either, and I'll never pretend to agree with something I know is wrong just because the person in question happens to have a 'Manager' badge. Someone perceptive enough might notice their 'Retard' badge sitting side-by-side with the 'Manager' one.

It really does amaze me how people reach these positions when they can barely spell and send out template letters with such professionalism as "untitled document, page */2" to reject interviewees.

Bitch.

I don't have an attitude problem...

Option 5:

Watch some antiquated TV series that I should have watched back when it was on TV rather than downloading it 5 years later.

I wouldn't have got the humour then anyway, so I guess it makes sense. Did I watch Fight Club when I was 8? Same reasoning.

Reason why not:

I probably will at some point today.

Option 6:

Post on all-nettools.com

Reason why:

Because I feel like it and I have time to kill right now.

I'm back. Below are some transcripts from my conversations with one particular Saudi-harraser, as promised.

First conversation:

Hey Eastern province man from Saudi Arabia,

It is clear "Saudi Man" is just an idiot who happens to be Saudi.

Somewhat strangely, I've decided to stick around here indefinitely.

Why? Someone two metres away from me found my online alias(es) and started reading what I was writing. I wanted to leave because I don't want people I know spying on what I write online.

However, we've come to the agreement that he'll respect my privacy (like I respect his) and not go looking for my posts any more. To be honest I don't give a shit if people read my posts -- I'm more honest now and it doesn't bother me if people find out whatever secrets I may have.

I might be a little less frequent and a bit different on here (since my brother might be reading every word I write), but I'll be here nonetheless.

It's a lot easier to vent whatever's on your mind on the internet when nobody you know will ever read it, but I will try. It probably won't come to that though, due to our agreement.

Hi again people.

It wasn't a problem with me writing anything particularly illegal or offensive; it was me revealing stuff about my life and then getting found out by someone who's not just a random alias on the net.

This thread is a bit old, so things have changed. Most of the other mods/admins aren't very active (they log on, but most of them never post much anymore, real life has gotten the better of them :().

Being the only actively posting mod, I"m kinda forced to be here, but I don't mind since we seem to be getting some more active people that actually know a thing or two about computers.

teknicalissue
01-03-2008, 09:41 PM
can't say much about the subject since i just joined but im pretty sure i can get atleast *0 more people in the forum by next week most of them all computer savy techs i work with..i really like this site it has extreme potential..it just needs that "kick" to get it up and fully running

Moonbat
01-03-2008, 09:45 PM
that "kick" = Getting people who are knowledgeable to help us answer questions. I hope your tech guys have the patience to deal with idiots, and have a vast knowledge of the dark side of the Internet.

01-03-2008, 10:01 PM
one more thing, maybe if we can get more mods maybe you can feel abit less forced to come back, maybe if one of my techs prove them selves worthy you can share the power with them since you and i know how moding is done (had a forum before) and i know how annoying it gets but still it shouldn't be something your forced to do you know?

Moonbat
01-03-2008, 10:04 PM
The admins usually decide the mods, and most of the mods have been here at least a year. I'm not saying you have to be here for a year or anything, but we don't wanna make every person who walks through the door a mod.

teknicalissue
01-03-2008, 10:05 PM
lol i know, just a thought though, get people who participate on the forum and are computer intellegent as mods and youd have some positive reinforcement lol just a thought ;)

I've decided to unlock this. What we should be doing is deleting all the spam and Saudi-related shit, instead of lazily locking threads because it takes less effort.
