hi i would like to get ip address over msn.
what i did is used a program WPE PRO that detects the ip address of a program of my choice (msn) and it lists all the connections that i have made (sending a file) the thing is, the ip address that comes up is the address of a router, not the computer, can anyone tell me how to find computers IP address from here. did i do somethign wrong. i checked that ip in ANGRY IP SCANNER.
thanks

Finding the ip address of another on Msn is very easy.
I use a program called commview.
and also a headset is required.
All u do is send them a voice clip.
and there ip will show up in your commview.
they dont have to accept the voice clip or anything.
the voice clip doesnt have to contain anything
can be a second long or w/e
msn runs on port **6*
for more info see

Thanks
hope this helps

i got few results, its just that im not sure if im getting the right thing. i was using that program, its just that i have a feeling that im not getting the COMPUTERS ip not the network providers, how do i know which one is which, and how can i check that i got the COMPUTERS IP ADDRESS?
weird, sorry for a really stupid question but how should an ip address look like. i mean what could be the range.:o
does it have to start with **2.*68 or can it have for example 82.20.xx.xxx??

IP's go from 0.0.0.0 all the way to 255.255.255.255 so anything in that range is valid.

is there any way i could check the ip address, you see i used ip scanner
i think its called angry ip scanner, and it keeps telling me its dead:mad: and i know that the person is online and connected to internet. i got few results in the (Cnnview or whatever its called) i know its the right line cause its the remote person and i could see the increasing number of sent things. i was sending the file. dont know why i got 2 different ips. and neither of them appear to be working in angry ip scanner.

well while ur sending a file u could be getting a servers ip.
also
you were asking about what ip's should look like
ussually the **2.*68.x.x is the computers local ip.
then each isp has its own ranged of ip's it can assign.
if u would like the list of ip's each isp controls let me know.
hope that helps

their firewall could be stealthing the ports, making it appear to be offline when you port scan
I don't use msn and I don't chat but assuming it works like most programs and its p2p (protocol context, not file sharing) then all you would have to do is open the command prompt (Start, run, type "cmd", hit enter) then type "netstat" into the command prompt and it will show who your connected too. You shouldn't need any external tools when Windows provides pretty much the same thing. Hope it helps.

:) can you please give me the range of the ip addresses for the isp providers please.
I'm not sure what elite_chaos has for a list but there are thousands if not more of ip ranges. If you need to find a particular range its fairly easy. http://www.dnsstuff.com/ should have everything you would want to know.
