Remotely Logging In

I know all I've done is posting questions, but I need help once again...

Well, my 7 year old laptop finally decided to disfunction.
It seems that most of the built-in harware doesn't work.
None of the key***rd keys work,
or the built-in mouse.

I can reboot (thankfully).
It's an old laptop, so the Wi-Fi connector is added harware (in another words, it still works).
I tried logging in my usual ID,
but I had decided to put a password on it earlier (stupid stupid stupid)
and I can't type now,
so I can't get in the administrator account.

Somehow, I have access to Guest account
(I have a non-built-in mouse).
So I went in,
started my RAT
and tried to connect to my computer and...
Firewall came up.
The administrator has to allow the program, great.

I also tried normal Remote Desktop,
but it doesn't work.
(I know how to work that at least...)

I tried attatching an extra key***rd to it,
but since my computer is ancient too,
our computer key***rd doesn't fit in with my extra laptop key***rd port.

I can use the visual key***rd thingy when I log into the Guest Account
(I have no idea what it is in English since I use a Korean OS, but it's the key***rd you click on).

I don't have any back-up (again, stupid stupid stupid...)
so I somehow have to log into my Admin ID.
I know the password to it.

Just anyidea how to log in?
I have a computer right next to my laptop,
and they are both Windows XP.

Have you tried booting up into Safe Mode?

It turns out that it was some kind of a virus...

So I can use the key***rd just before Windows XP starts,
but I can't use it after.

So I went into Safe Mode.
Now there wasn't a guest ID,
but only my Admin ID (Peace Force),
and a strange Administrator ID.

I'm guessing the password for the Administrator ID is something like admin.
I know my Admin ID password.

The problem is...
I still can't type even though I'm in safe mode.
Someone pro must have hacked my computer.

Is there any other way to try to log in?

Hmm.. well, since you're not logged in, the On-Screen Key***rd is ruled out...

I'm unable to think of anything else besides formatting your HD, If I do find anything though, I'll get back to you. Sorry I cant help.

I see that a lot of people are having the same problems as me.
As it turned out, the virus was pretty recent.
It deleted your hardware drives so you couldn't use your key***rd or your mouse.
I have no idea why my USB mouse still works though.

Isn't there a way to put a RAT in my start-up folder so it starts when the virus starts (As soon as the OS is activated)?
Then I could control it from my computer.

Since I can only go in the Guest ID,
if I put a RAT in there,
would it only work for the Guest?
Or would it start with the OS like it would if I put it in an Admin ID?

I have no experience with RATs but couldn't you get into Administrator account in Safe Mode and start it through there?

As I said before, the key***rd still doesn't work even if I start Windows XP in Safe Mode.

I saw on another from to start it on BIOS, but someone else had the computer before we did (about 5 years ago), and they changed the password. So that's not an option.

About the Recovery Console, the website says:
If a Windows XP-based computer does not start correctly or if it does not start at all, you can use the Windows Recovery Console to help you recover the system software.

Windows XP does start correctly, only the key***rd doesn't work (and the mouse pad).

The reason I don't want to format the computer yet, is so I could back-up everything from my Desktop, all my Favourites, and my MSN chatlogs.

Any other s***estions than the ones already mentioned would be appreciated. Thanks.

any changes to the system must be done by administrators,guest accounts are limited. If you can get in safemode as adm,try to find the way to use sytem restore.
Also a new variant of malware or virus as you call it,are pretty sophisticated,using the system restore as to reappear over and over.I had a similar problem and ended up reformatting and installing a new windows package.
And...since you have another computer available,go online and try to download the drives with the specifications of your hardware(k-***rd).If you get the drivers,download them to a usb storage,then loggin as administrator in the old one and install the drivers.

One more last option,go to home depot,buy a nice hammer and beat the crap out of that old pc.:rolleyes:
