Vistumbler is like netstumbler for windows vista. http://www.techidiots.net/project-pages/vistumbler
You can check and see if a neighbors signal may be interfering with you. Is so, maybe you can change the channel on your router.

I would say that its almost *0&#*7; your wireless router. There is a slim possibility it is a windows wireless service BLOATWARE. It runs under one of the svchost hogging somewhere between 80-*00MB of Memory Alone!
Next time this happens right click my computer and select manage. Highlight the device manager button. Right click and select "disable" on the wireless device you are connecting with. Right click and select "enable" on the wireless device you are connecting with. Does your computer connect successfully?
What type of router (make and model) do you have?
What type of wireless card (make and model) do you have?

I did some searching through the functions available for my HomeHub and the only way to change the settings is through some online thing which I have no idea what the login username or password are... Ill have to call BT. xD That'll be fun. &#*6*;*00/minute, minimum of a 4 minute call (obvious exaggeration).
EDIT
Woohoo. Managed to discover the necessary details to access my HomeHub and changed the channel of the wireless broadcast. Just got to see if that works now. :P
