I would like to join a distributed computing group in
Canada (Mount Sinai Hospital) working on protein folding. I have a *28k Broadband connection to ntl (UK). When I run the foldit software I get an error message: 'Cannot connect to server', the server in question being 206.248.62.8; I am told that ntl pass traffic through a proxy 62.25*.*6.5 and this may cause problems. The foldit software does allow me to admit to another proxy and I tried webcache.bt.net on port 8080 but this didn't make any difference.
Can anyone throw some light on this problem?
