I am using a "supposed" anonymous proxy server located in a country in Europe. However, using the proxy server test on this site, my actual IP address is detected. How does this utility trace to my actual IP address? Obviously, the proxy server is not anonymous, but how is it that the utility can query the proxy I am using and "coax" it to reveal my actual IP address. Can someone please explain to me how this works? Thanks

How this works:
The request that your computer sends to the proxy contains your ip-address. if the proxy is not an "anonymous" it does not remove the ip-address in the request packet. Anonymous proxies are parsing the request packets and are changing the originate ip-address to their own.
