Excuse this ? from a Newbie squared...

Does an IP address show up to administrators on a forum. If so, how can it be hidden or changed?

Also, if *0 different computers log on to a forum from the same location that runs through a network on a T-* line, do they show up as the same IP address?

Is the IP address from each individual computer and/or does that change when two or more run through a router?

Thx

Proxies.

Yeah.

All the computers on a router have an internal LAN IP address, but will use the router's public IP address for the internet. The local IP address will usually be **2.*68.x.x and the public one will be different.

If you want more information on the process of computers on the internal network using the router's public IP, take a look at NAT (Network Address Translation) (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Network_Address_Translation)
