Everytime I log into Irc my local host IP address and name is displayed upon a whois command.
I used a different remote proxy from matrix site, but Irc still finds the local host IP and displays it.
How do I get the IRC display a remote host proxy instead of my local one for anonimity.
Any help would be appreciated
HI,
some irc servers provide vhost server and some irc servers wont display the first octect of the ip address. Find and use such irc servers.

Hi,
In my opinion, the best solution would be to use TotalNet Shield by Anonymizer: http://www.anonymizer.com/totalnetshield/
For the price of a good lunch, you get secure SSH tunneling and kill two birds with one stone: your hostname shows up as someident@cyberpass.net, and all your chats are encrypted, so your ISP can't spy on you.

hi,
http://www.sirc.hu/english.html
you may run stunnel but if I remember correct,it doesnt hide your hostname though it encrypts the chat. More over it is free ware.
One bird down without a stone :-) ,joking.
