Why are SOCKS proxies so hard to find?

Hi all!
My first post here :-)
I'm a worker at an university department and have full access to the internet via the LAN. I used to download some music using Napster, but now the administrator makes it impossible...
I was happy only once when I found a free working Socks 5 proxy and had back Napster. It lasted 2 days :-(
Now I'm searching free proxies, but the type I need, Socks!!!, I can' find.
Why it is so hard?
Someone can make me a gift... ?

Socks proxy are hard to find because they usualy exist to the open public
for a few day's before they are restricted by the proxy's admin
so the best way to find them is by searching for them I use "proxyhunter"
and in my opinion its the best way finding them but you can allso look at

I have to thank you for your help posted in the " Proxies and Firewalls" forum.
I found proxyhunter and tried it. Till now no luck!
About http://tools.rosinstrument.com/proxy/ : i know this address
and I have to say taht is wonderful!
Still hunting for socks...
