BIN Database
I m administrating a big european onlineshop and now i m looking for a BIN Database (**** ID Number - Code from the first 6 Numbers of ****/****** ****** Cards) to program a tool what is directly transmitting the Country where the ****** Card is registered in an online order with ****** card payment. So we will have easier controll if the ******** is in the same country where the card is registered.
Anyone knows where to download/buy this database?
Thanks from Germany :o

BIN database
I would also like to be able to get hold of a BIN database. We need to determine whether a **** card is a debit or ****** card in order to apply the relevant administration charges. If anyone has any idea where I can get the data from (or if there is another way to do this) I would be very grateful.
I don't think minFraud will give us this information.

Are you people incapable of doing anything on your own? This is exactly the reason i'm leaving soon.
If you check wikipedia, the most trusted online source for information, it contains a helpful article on BINs which gives many links that can solve your problem.
This website we are on, all-nettools.com, offers BIN lookup here:
http://all-nettools.com/toolbox,financial
Which could possibly be used (somewhat illegally) if you designed a web application which sends a HTTP request to their BIN lookup script and analyzes the results.
Otherwise, you can download this integrated BIN database program for windows only, which possibly could be used on a website if you found a way of interfacing web scripts with it OR found a way of extracting the database from it:
http://www.mars-soft.net/****sbase.htm
Nowhere else on the net seems to offer BIN databases without signing up to a whole package of services.

Thanks for the quick reply.
Obviously we have found the BIN lookup on this web site which is why we are posting on here asking for information about how to download the database. :) Using it "somewhat illegally" is not really an option for a payments system which will need to go through a proper security auditing procedure!
As for the MARS application, I have downloaded this and it has the relevant data in it but not in an easily extractable format. I will contact the authors to see if there is a way that this data can be used and will post anything I find on here.

All ****** card numbers contain a 6 digit prefix, the prefix is the sequence of digits at the beginning of the number that determine the ****** card network to which the number belongs. The first 6 digits of the ****** card number are known as the **** Identification Number (BIN). These identify the institution that issued the card to the card holder. The rest of the number is allocated by the issuer.
**** Identification Numbers, BINs are generally considered sensitive information and is normally provided by merchant service providers, who normally are able to supply monthly updated BIN number range tables for all cards (****, ******Card etc.) except for ****, Diners, JCB and Discover.
But there exists public available BIN number databases on the internet.
