Yes. Indeed! I think every effective security & privacy site will receive DoS attacks sooner or later. It's always prudent to be prepared.By MrByte:

BlackIce is not supposed to stop suspicious outgoing packets. Its mission is to protect you from external attacks. And it works very well for this particular purpose. I'm not that worried about trojans and spyware, because:
a. I never download crap of unknown origin.
b. I closely monitor my PC with a sniffer.
So for me, BlackIce does the job:-)
Thank you for quoting Stan Miastkowski, PCWorld. This article is available at http://adobe.rapidcontent.com/chn/netscape/**08*8.x.0.pcworld.p.a.protectpc.html . Once again, you seem to forget to mention the source, making people believe that it's your original thoughts.
What spokesperson? Where's the URL? Give me a break. The average Internet user has no clue about hack attacks. It's a rare day when I get only one on dial-up.By Moseley:
According to a Network ICE spokesperson, the company's research shows the average dial-up Internet user experiences an average of one hack attack per month.

Blackice Defender not only detects hack attacks, it stops them in and outIt's wise to do research before posting erroneous opinions. It's unwise and crooked to post other's work as one's own. The need for these rebuttals is a waste of time for this forum's users IMHO.From:http://www.theregister.co.uk/content/8/**46*.html
Network ICE, however, has produced an official response in which it says Mr Gibson has made a major error in labelling its product as a firewall.
"BlackICE Defender is not a firewall. Its primary function is that of an intrusion detection system,"
