    Exclamation Help!

Ok it all began about * month ago when i was playing an online game with some friends.

Eventually we all became close friends and even set up a ventrilo server to talk to each other in.

As some of you might know in ventrilo you can view ip adresses by Bannin or using the RCon tool. Well this person found my ip adresses and he ddosed me and i could not use the internet or anything for about * hour.

Ever since then i have been attempting to find out how to protect myself against it but i do not know how to test that because i don't know how to do it and i don't want to tell him to do it again because if im wrong then this time he could do it permenatly.

Is there any program out there that can Dos my ip adress to test this?

Please help and Thanks in advanced.

If it happens again, unplug your modem for about *0 minutes, that should change your ip address if your ip is dynamic. Check with your isp to be sure.

You are mixed up with local ips. Ipconfig and release will do nothing about your outside ip. You probably dont even have a router if they hit your ip and your computer was hit.

    ever consider

have your firewall refuse inbound pings. it will almost completely kill dos/ddos attacks, as they are mostly just ping packets in mass quantities
